Hello guys , Just managed to destroy my 722.606 (W210 TD 1999 OM606 with 7.5mm elements ).
I've got one from a 2004 Sprinter CDI 2.7 , 722,681 , do you think that I can make a swap plug'n play to replace 722,606 ?

No, you have to change the bellhousing because bolt pattern is different, same problem with 320cdi. Do you use some kind of stand alone controller? 722.606 is from E280, 722.608 is from 300TD and they are both W5A330, 722.681 type is W5A580 and has different gear ratios, so it will not work with genuine engine and gearbox control units.

The bolt pattern is the same but the ratios are different and will create problems with the TCU.

Sorry, my mistake. I use gearbox from 320cdi, it had different bolt pattern and I had to change the bellhousing. 270cdi's bellhousing looks like 320cdi's but bolt pattern really seems to be the same as om606, I haven't noticed it so far.

What 320 cdi V6 or I6 ? All inline motors should have the same bellhousing.

I belive all V6s came with 722.9, mine is from 2004 W211 E320cdi 722.626. For me it was also surprise, 722.608 on left and 722.626 right. It looks almost like V8 but not completely round.

Sorry for my typo, I mean 722.608 (not the 722.606) .722.681 comes from a 2004 Sprinter 5 cyl (2.7l CDI) and I would like to use this one with W210's (E300TD '99) tranny control module (designed for 722.608) .
