best way to lower w124 estate

10-02-2014, 02:52 PM #1hello i would like to know the best way to lower a w124 estate the issue for me is the sls im thinking of just tossing it and fitting saloon shocks and lowering springs has anyone done this ? thanks

there are H&R springs available for that car, or you could go with sportline springs

Also fitted rear sway bar from W210 420 V8, 18,2mm vs 14,65mm stock.
Also with H&R springs brown colour, but now the original ones, in the annual inspection they said me change the H&R by the original springs.
You can´t fit the Sedan rear shocks in the Estate, Sedan are very long.
In my W124 Estate 300D I removed the SLS system, all, pump, reservoir, lines, rear spheres, shocks, lever and height regulator... fitted Nissan Terrano-Ford Maverick Bilstein front shocks, I don´t like much how them works, perhaps need fit them at a lower point in the arms, making some pieces of metal and welding to the arms, or perhaps the Bilstein I fitted (used) are a bit tired. Note the shocks works as a bit soft in road holes.
Also fitted rear sway bar from W210 420 V8, 18,2mm vs 14,65mm stock.

(01-20-2015, 05:20 PM)ccrelan The best lowering option is to use OEM 500e springs and whatever spring pads you want. You can also use R129 springs as they have SLS as well.

The drop with brown wagon h&r's is uneven- the front gets slammed. I had them on the car and sold them. 500e springs are far stiffer than any h&r springs.
