I am starting to acquire parts for the eventual "have more power" thing.

I have an OM603, looking for more oomph. Turbo wise, and after much reading, I think I am wanting to opt for the H1C with a 12cm exhaust nonWG. I dont want laggy top end power. Hoping for more mid range. Any thoughts. Its quite a mishmash of information on this topic I know. Mostly dealing with the 12cm thing.

Due to the whole budget deal, this turbo route seems doable.

Obviously, pump work will occur as well.

I have a H1C (big H1C) with a 8.5CM (.63ar) housing on it. My 602 would see full boost (2.5 bar) by 3800RPM. Also at 2.5 bar boost the exhaust drive pressure was around 2.72 bar. Still have it if your interested..

SO the H1C is the prequel to the HX35 right? Researching them they do look more dated, ie slimmer core, non v-band compressor outlet, no antisruge inlet etc, but if they are available with an 8.5cm2 housing as per Duncansport then that makes them much nmore interesting..

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

H1C has a V-band compressor outlet..... also it has the webbing for the MWE (anti surge) however it is not cut out. This is easily done on a lathe

Not this one..

Application specific I guess, IE agricultural with that large turbine housing..

That's the smallest of the H1C's . Here in the US we mostly see the big H1C from the 1993 Cummin's intercooled Ram's.. The large H1C uses the same turbine wheel as the early HX35 and the same compressor wheel as the 8 blade HX35.

This is a good write up
