I've been putting off the engine mounts, for some reason I just knew they were going to suck. Well I was right. The 8mm allen bolts BOTH stripped on me. So I tried to just take the engine mount arm off but it won't come off with the mount still attached.
Tried cutting it off, twisting it, hack saw, brute strength, nothing. I was considering breaking the aluminum mount in half and getting new ones, but decided to walk away today. I'll try again tomorrow. Only way I see it is to drill the heads off.
I thought they are 10mm? Hmm, I can't remember.
Yep, worst case, break them with a sledge hammer. The aluminum will crack in half. But make sure the bolts to the block are tightened down. You don't want to bend a stud.
