Any relevant info out there? I see some interesting Nissan engines.. but I can't find any four-bangers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_TD_engine

some models of Nissan's TD series have 4 cyl

They have a straight 6 under the RD and TD series.. but its too much power.

Look in the "complete engines" section of eBay, lots of JDM diesels and front clips.

The Nissan TD engines are suited to a 4wd or light truck, they're not passenger car engines.
A very tough engine with long stroke and indirect injection. Close to bullet-proof but not that good on fuel.

Other nissan 4 and 6 cyl engines.
LD28 - 2.8L 6 cyl indirect injection diesel.
LD20 - 4 cyl version of the above.
CD20 and CD20T - later versions of the LD20, T is turbocharged.
RD28T - later version of the LD28
YD22 - 2.2L 4 cyl direct injection diesel, range from a 77hp non turbo with distributor pump to a commonrail turbo intercooled with about 180hp.
YD25 - bigger capacity version of the YD22, again ranges from non-turbo distributor pump to commonrail turbo intercooled.
ZD30 - 3L engine which replaced the TD27T and TD42, has a reputation for blowing up, caused most likely by sensor malfunction. Reports say they go really well before they blow. Replaced by the YD25.

Lots more too.

Despite the lack of turbo, thats pretty darn cool. Do you have any installation pictures? What transmission do you use?
