its now being used as my daily driver, it goes well but need to do something about the throttle, very slow response and the pedal is way to long
as been other bits of work gone into it, when it cracked the subframe it pulled the rear arb mount off the boot floor, so got it patched and all welded back solid, along with 2 new rear droplinks, no rattles from the rear end now
it also had mercedes SLS system, its intended to raise the car up at the rear when you have people in the back, it only worked on one side and was hard as the road, so got two standard rear shocks and have done away with the system
since im still waiting for a few more bits to arrive, couple of us sprayed the merc

satin black and looks a hell of alot better imo
got all the wiring sorted out this weekend, first off sorted out the windows, was really pissing me off that only the rear two worked, and drivers only went down an inch
got the trim below the front lights sprayed black, rear spoiler is in primer and will be sprayed black shortly, and got the merc badge on the back of her again.
she was pron to heating abit when it was sideways, so the two front fans are now wired into 2 swtichs, also got a resistor and switch wired into the pump wiring, it now has a nice wee puff of black smoke, and is loving 3rd gear now, before it was just fit to mange 3rd

Loving the murder black, that subframe looks like its been gas-axed off!

yeh that makes sense, i was gonna move it closer on the throttle pedal but the potentionmeter is alot easier got at
cheers, yeh thats what happens when someone trys to tow a transit full off tools and other stuff, with a trailer behind it and 2 tonne of bricks on that, she seen a hard life before i got it

4k ohms across them.
I'm making a loom with >15psi pressure switch, max-throttle switch and arming switch on the dash so you only get more fuel (max rack) when these conditions are met, which is only when you want it really..

yeh exactly like hario said, only i run mine with a potentiometer and have it just at the point where it is starting to rev itself, but i dont mind black smoke at all, not only that with the resistor on all the time, you getting a wee bit more boost, and its kicking in earlier and holding full boost longer, ideal for what i need it for

couple updates, its through its yearly mot, first time aswell, so got coilovers into it last monday, and its was a wee bit to low, so had to raise it abit at the front so i could turn, drove it like this for 2 days first but
and made a new exhaust for it, need to get it onto it this weekend

next was trying to cure my overheating issues, so aircon rad has been removed, was fucked anyway, pump is still in place but will sort that out another time, put the twin fans back in just incase it does start to heat, also blew out the rad, the about of shite that came out of it was unreal,

currently its running on about 4 1/2 cylinders, one of the pre chambers has come loose, should hopefully have the tools needed for that tomorrow, and get the diff welded tomorrow aswell

didn't manage to get the diff welded today, spent this morning putting my brothers bm 323 back together, then got the merc running on all 5 cylinders again, took it a good run and its not lifting the temperature hand either, success
also got my hydro mounted, needs connected up but forgot to get t pieces on friday

like the idea of taking the air con rad out and keeping the twin fan set up. my air con has never worked and i was thinking of doing this myself and eventually taking out the compressor too..

it does help with throttle response, but i have noticed it is slower at returning to idle when its turned on
egr i just put a blanking plate in, and a bolt in the end of the vac line going to the top of it, hasn't thrown up any errors so far
bit of an update, i now have a water temperature gauge and exhaust gas temperature gauge to go into the car, i was wondering about oil pressure, is there anywhere one these engine you can put a sensor to read oil pressure?
ill be getting rid of the compressor at some stage aswell, atm i have just got rid of the pipes and rad

FYI: When you remove the AC compressor, (which you need to do for IC pipework clearance when you fit a big one), this is the shorter belt that you will need:

Sweet, how does the hydraulic master cylinder hand brake not interfere with the original hydraulic foot master cylinder operation?

i dont know exactly but it works perfectly fine, have it fitted and if the bleed screws would of screwed out it would be braking like normaly, could only bleed it to the rubber pipes and must still be abit of air in the system, so have a job for this weekend sorting that out

diff is welded just not in the car yet, need to test drive it with the spacers on to make sure they are ok, so tomorrow ill get the spacers on, hopefully tyres and have it out of the shed for first time in a week
bit more work done past couple of days, new mintex disc's and pad's all round, fronts where warped and rears where done, also rebuilt my two rear calipers, with 2 new bleed nipples, got them bleed up right and the handbrake is alot firmer now, haven't tried it but it should lock now

just recieved my om602 pump yesturday, saving now for a turbo, 7.5mm elements and probaly a clutch as mines slipping atm
this will be coming off the road shortly so i can start working on it
also going a different way from holset, have a garret gt35 coming, going to try it and see how it goes

going to be starting on some of the wiring this week, going to make a new loom for it as it seems the easiest way todo it
have got abit more done to this recently, now have it fully striped inside, wiring and all is gone, going to wire in just what is needed, as its goin back to a manual pump it wont need alot, also got the turbo mounted today, its a tight squeeze in there

finaly got abit more done, have the manifold adaptor completely finished, going to skim both flanges in work, also have the egt sensor fitted, downpipe is started, but cant go any further until i get the standard exhaust off, and have the oil feed pipe done

Mate I'm pretty sure you can get your hand down the side of the block with the exhaust manifold in place to remove the oil feed, its a compression fitting and not too tight IIRC.

But i finally have updates
on the wiring side, it was 90% done, untill the glow pluug relay quit, so going to wire them so each one has its own relay. All the dash gauges are working, apart from the revs, have yet to get the signal wire wired up to it.

the big news though, is that its finally started, first time since last september when i took the standard turbo off, happy to hear it running finally.

been very lazy with photos and updates recently, mostly because ive been to busy at work to really get alot done on it.
But i finally have updates

But its getting closer, spent today working at it again, have the boost pipes done just need jubilie clips for them all, can now stop it from inside, tractor style with a pull to stop lever. Also got the kill switch mounted and a couple more bits wiried up.

Got the seat mounted this week aswell, and started it again today, but its blowing smoke out the number 2 intake valves, it never done this the last time it was running, im thinking its a slightly sticky valve but was wondering if anyone else has any ideas? The timing between crank and cam is good, pump is abit to advance as its still got diesel knock.

Pumped up lifter. Happened to me, I changed the oil and let it thoroughly warm up and it eventually cleared itself after 5-10 minutes idling. Happened to the 606 belonging to my friend Hugh-F also.

the i started on the engine again, first up was sorting my oil cooler plate, had a slight leak, got it welded up and i machined it flat in work

got all the gauges wired up finally, now have, boost, egt, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and a rev counter, oil and rev counter are in the main dash
