I have problem.I have OM604(w202 220D with lucas pump) and now i have om601 pump on this engine.but I not runing good.I was 15 ATDC.Good start and run,but much white smoke and idle is horrible.10,20 ATDC it was same. Now i running 14 BTDC.not good start, but engine runing when idle so littble bit hard, some black smoke and high rpm not much white smoke when before.Injectors are good.pressure is 110-115bar.But injectors are original for rotary pump.om601 pump is from w124 200D,same injectors pressure 115bar.Om601 pump is stock.I'm desperate.please help THX

Rotary pump injectors and inline pump injectors don't mix. They have different kind of needle lift I thought.

The lift part is a possibility, but I don't think it should matter too much as long on the pop pressures are set correctly for either a rotary or inline. Too much injector pressure on a rotary will junk it real quick

I have some brand new injectors laying around here. But no pop tester. I'm quite curios what's the difference. I can not imagine the difference in pop pressure result in a totally different Bosch number.

Left is from a VW 1.6 turbo diesel and right is from the Mercedes 601/2/3 n/a engines. Can't find a whole lot of info on the VW injectors. They look exactly the same

Have you swaped pump sprocket from the OM601? The one with automatic advance of timing at higher rpm
