Does anyone know if the OM602 injector will fit the OM617?

Someone gave me 5 injector nozzles part number 0010174912.
Research indicates they fit the following engines: OM+
602.961, 602.962, 603.960, 603.970, 603.97

I know that people are doing all sorts of mods to the OM617 turbo diesel.
Wondering if these injector nozzles will work OK?

Am also looking at a parts car with a good used low mileage OM602 engine so was thinking of just keeping the nozzles in case they are needed on the OM602, but would like to know if they will fit our OM617.

I have a pop-tester and the correct shims along with some bad OM617 injectors and the OM602 nozzles look like they will fit the OM617 injector body.

Thanks

I would say double check the injector body as for length and threads on the lower halves.

As for pintle, both are 6mm, so you should be fine ASSUMING the body screws OK into the head AND they are the same or nearly the same length overall. I am thinking there could be something up with the threads and the length, but not 100% positive. I should know this, but they all blur ... lol

Different threads. 617 is coarse and 60x are fine (1.5 pitch i think)

Yes to the nozzel itself, e.g. 6mm pintle nozzel.

(03-05-2014, 05:07 PM)DeliveryValve 602 Nozzles will fit a 617 injector body.

So the 602 injectors should work fine?
Any advantage or disadvantage?

The nozzel should fit, e.g., 6mm pintle, but the nozzel holder may be different.

OM617 engine takes a number of nozzels, EG: 240/, 261, 265, 315, 1930, et cet.

Mercedes part number 0010174912 is a 265 nozzle.

So like Greazzer said they will work just fine in an OM617A.

OM61X has M24x2,0mm thread
OM60X has M22x1,5mm thread

in the prechambers.
