More news , today I see one SL500 R129 in junkyard, no tyres, no engine..but front sway bar installed. I take it, 29mm diameter (not 30,4mm as I say before).
And removed my´s car sway bar, 28mm, W124 300D Wagon (Sportline emblems), but there isn´t plug and play, the SL500 bar must be moved near 50mm forward, welding steel pieces to the stock bar "L" supports.

Some photos of both sway bars, clean is SL500 R129.

I think some people have just bent them. I have the 28mm (measures at 28.65) from the 400E. Check on benzworld, there was a thread about it. Really think the extra mm is worth it? You can still buy larger bars (E500).

Splitting this to a new thread...

Wow according to that PDF I must have the E500 bar already. I'll have to check the part number.

So, how well did it work. I saw this and decided it's the smarter route for increasing clearance in a w124 wagon for an OM606 swap. the other option being oil pan modification. been there done that with a 1jz for an R107.

If the arms on the 129 bar are longer, the bar has to be larger diameter to provide the same torsional stiffness as the original wagon bar. I am guessing this switch would not provide any increased roll resistance, due to the increased distance from the ends of the bar to the pivots.
