Hi. I have spent weeks google'ing everything i could think off....

My gearbox will NOT go further than 4000rpm in first gear. thats really lame when i want it to go to 5-6000rpm so the turbo will spool proper..

Have tried the bowden cable adjustment, made no difference..
no electronics are hooked up as I did a engine swap into another w124.

Ideas would be nice.... thanks :-))

Same trans model (diesel tranny?) Is this transmission confirmed good with different motor?

You DO got all the grade school stuff handled right? (Fluid level, vacuum/bleed, running pressure, throttle linkages, (2x)kickdown, etc.)

You won't spin over 5.5k period. Shifting manually will get you to 5150 and foot to the floor should net you 4650 as standard practice.

Methinks you must have overlooked a thing. More than likely your bowden no workee. Any change at all when you adjust?

MBZ123 <---trans currently on IV drip!

You need a govoner from a .3 that was fitted to a m103 powered 201 or 124 as that will allow a higher shift. I can get u a part number tomorrow if u like

Thanks for reply

Yes its a compleate engine tranny swap
The stock om602 would kick down a gear even if the gear it kicka down to only had 200rpm left. And first gear would lock up if you kicked down from secound or started in first. Have tried to adjust as much as i could find. Tried to adjustable thing on the pump where the vacuum lines goes in yesterday, did make the gears softer. But still short first gear...

Got the tranny to shift better. Bowden cable is maxed out so far that it feels like its going to snap... 99% sure that everything else is ok, since i got a looot of hours under the hood checking every bit.. Can the oil have anything to do with it?

No, oil never has any influence on automatic transmissions. It's total bollocks to buy the right oil. And even worse, total waste of time to change the oil if something's missbehaving. This has never-ever solved any problem...

Ok, sarcasmn /off - of course! I would have assumed a trans fluid change was your very first bit of action! ONLY use the correct fluid, ATF Dexron IID (RED) with MB236 approval. Smile And maybe from a reputable brand, the cheaper oils tend to wear quickly.

Do you have the detent solenoid hooked up for the WOT switch? Your bowden cable only needs to be at full tension and full throttle. Tightening it any further does nothing. Check for 12vlts with full throttle activated at the solenoid plug at the back right side of the transmission. Otherwise it is most likely the governor.

Thanks for that! I have no electronics hooked up to my tranny other than the "park plug" will check it out!! Smile do i just run 12v on the solenoid hooked up via the switch under the pedal? Easy! ThanksSmile
