Hi guys.

So, after my automatic tranny seized there was no excuse for a manual tranny(717.430). After some struggling it's in (still need gearbox mount and driveshaft, temporary welded something up).

The problem now is that the clutch can't handle anything Sad 0.5 bar boost and that's it.
What will be a nice simple not to expensive solution? I haven't been on a dyno yet since the tranny broke, But my buddy who owns the dyno had a drive in it and his but-dyno says about 300hp.
In the near future i'm buying a 606 and aiming for 400hp. And probably fit a BMW gearbox. But i recon if i just get a BMW friction disk that's an easy fit.

It's currently a dual mass flywheel. I really like it. Can I keep it?

hmm, correct me if im wrong, but i have the same gearbox, with an om602, and the flywheel is a single-mass flywheel....
you shure about that dual-mass?

either way, a friend butt-dynoed mine to around 300hp Wink
althou i run mine with stock turbo, so i dont get that high-rpm kick.

i got 1.6bar of boost at the intake, and the clutch holds up, 3.07 rearend... real life performance i beat an 300CE 185whp, and without some extra weight in mine are even with the light 190E 2.3 16v with 175whp.

hmm, correct me if im wrong, but i have the same gearbox, with an om602, and the flywheel is a single-mass flywheel....

I'm have talked to someone and he says I could try fitting dual pressure springs. I'm looking further into that. Should double the pressure.

Try pressuretesting the clutch and optimize by machining down the flywheel for best presssure.
A sinter would also help but its a bastard to your gearbox.
When you go bmw-trans and 606 you should go 240 mm or tilton clutch.

Been speaking to people around here and almost all of them said machining down the flywheel. I'm positive that won't be enough. But with a sinter plate it could work out. I probably can fix them at my job. There are some sinter friction plates laying around here. Normally used for pulling tractors.

But I'm curious with the dual mass flywheel. I'm not positive. But it could be that because I fix Volkswagen cars all day and the dual mass flywheel of those is a pain in the ass.

With the 606 and BMW box I'm a free man. I can do what I want and when I want. But the 603 is my daily driver. That's the mayor issue.

I got a single mass fly wheel conversion from a sprinter 2.2 CDI it has a 240mm disc and it replaces the duel mass flywheel it has the pilot bearing in the flywheel for the shorter input shaft of a duel mass transmission. My plan is to use it on a 606.962 with a 6spd out of a 2002 c230 kompressor in my 1987 w126 300sdl

Hmmm maybe I'm not going to spend any money on this engine anymore... Because I got myself a 606 before the end of the year! Just 350 euro with turbo and ip. Looks like a bargain. I'm hoping it's a good engine. Seems a little bit to cheap. But always better than a n/a engine.

I bet is does. Big Grin but I haven't seen the engine or anything. It's a 2 hour drive. I hope it's worth it. Oh and the intake manifold is missing. I'm hoping the 603 n/a fits.
