I believe I found the right part number. I've searched online but can't seem to confirm anywhere so I was hoping somebody here would be able to?

I checked the EPC and for a 300E it lists two cross members, one part number matches what my 300D would use (1242420501) and the other is 1242421201. I believe that is the part number for the manual transmission option on a 300E but wanted to make sure before I have the dealer put in the order.

If somebody can confirm that 1242421201 is the manual trans w124 cross member I would be eternally greatful Big Grin

'98 E300 Turbo "Juliette" - Brabus wheels and almost all the options a w210 could have
'87 300D Turbo "Roxanne" - #22 head - 400E brakes - EGR Delete - 17" Staggered AMG 5 spoke rims from CLK500 - 5 Spd manual
2007 Chevy 2500HD CCSB Duramax with about 400-500 rwhp depending on the tune I use Big Grin
1983 300D Silver Exterior/Black inside - Sold and will be missed, may we never meet in a PnP.

If you do an EPC 'Search' - 'Search without vehicle data' - on both part numbers they both show up as fitting 124030 model USA spec W124 E300. So the answer is.....Huh

Probably find that they're one and the same part but from different suppliers which is sometimes how things are. But don't rely on the EPC because its been proven wrong time and time again.

Called the dealer to check on some gaskets I ordered and they were able to get more info on the part number. 1242421201 is listed as "engine support - manual - left hand drive". The other part number I found (same except last 4 numbers are 0501) specifies automatic so I believe I found the right part. He said $37 and there are nine left in the NJ warehouse.

Told him to order one so I guess I'll find out soon enough. 99% sure it's the right one but I'll find out soon enough.

That's on par with what I paid for mine. Check my build and see if I listed the part number there. If not I will have the car up this weekend for all new brakes and SS hoses.

Picked it up from the dealer today, 1242421201 is indeed the correct part number for the w124 manual trans cross member.

Now I just need to read up on clutches. The 8" I got from the 2.2 190D isn't going to cut it for my purpose.

Thanks

I have the 8.5 clutch and at 6mos its already slipping with the super pump. The guys across the pond have a custom flywheel that will take a cheap 3 disk "nascar" clutch on ebay. I am considering going this route.
