Even though they are both W126's.... Will the seats from a 1984 380SEL fit in a 1987 300SDL without any wiring modifications on the electrical components? I haven't pulled the seats from my SDL yet, and I dont really want to yank them if its not a direct plug and play electrically. Thanks in advance to those who answer my stupid question.

Well to answer my own stupid question..... Yes it does fit and no it is not plug and play. I had to modify a few of the connectors and change out all the electrical components from my old seat to the new seat. It was a royal pain in the ass but hey now I have a comfy new seat :-)

For future reference, I upgraded the seats in my '87 300D with some from a '93 400E (or maybe 300E) and had to swap out the bottom brackets/motor ass'y from my old ones onto the new ones...there is likely a way to make the new ones fit but several connectors were significantly different (and more wires total, maybe seat heaters?) Anyway, after the bracket swap, all was well...

W123 Mods: 4 speed ** manual climate control ** '85 Kalitucky intake ** manual windows & full tint ** Euro headlights retrofit w/bixenon projectors ** 4 brake light mod ** Vogtland 50mm drop front & Lesjofors S600 drop rear springs ** 16" rims ** late w126 brake spindles, rotors & calipers ** full suspension rehab ** Bilstein HDs ** AL129X alternator & 1/0 starter and charging cables ** 300GD clutch/flywheel ** AFCO 80103N radiator & Earl's 41610 oil cooler ** custom block-off plate, remote oil filter & t-stat ** MW IP w/ tomnik's 6.5mm 'Holly' elements **

S124 Mods: 400E Rear subframe ** SL600 Brakes ** Late 300E 210mm diff ** SLK230 6 speed ** 17" CLK rims ** Vented RF Fender ** Facelift Hood, Headlights, and Lower Cladding **
