i have my old garrett turbo as a core.... if i wanted to buy a 60 trim unit where would i find it? none of the rebuilders i've seen advertising mention this option. i could rebuild by myself but i understand that this change requires balancing.

Any decent turbo shop should be able to figure it. That is, as long as they are not "rebuild to stock" only mechanics

What was the price if you don't mind me asking? Do you think it could keep up with a 8mm meken pump? With the help of a intercooler and W/M injection that it. Big Grin

I think they're good for around 20psi, ask Captain America, he has one, I've seen it, it's pretty badass

Personally I'm holding out for a t3/t4 ball bearing hybrid, I'm looking for one with about a .40 trim turbine housing and .60 trim compressor housing, that way it would be close to the same size as a stock t3 that's been nodded, but with crazy faster spooling

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Considering most people with 8mm pumps are running hx40's, I think that little Garrett would explode
$800? I have less than $400 wrapped up in my hx30 and That's after I rebuilt it

You can buy brand new turbo clones all day for cheap $. Like anything else, In turbo world, you get what you pay for... Sometimes you get lucky and steal one, I traded up for mine but out the door prices are usually about the same across the board.

Unless the price has changed, it should be about $400.00. I think for a 617 and a mild Meken Pump, it will work. Ask lgreeley83, he has a 60 trim and a mild Meken Pump that he is dialing in.

This correct it was 400$ something. The only think to add... Lol I don't think any Dieselmeken pump is mild. I do have a 6mm pump and even with 20psi I have max fuel turned wayyyy down. Egts still through the roof. Spooling is good. An alternative too is 60 trim super or something. The same shop can give you even more compressor wheel if needed. I probably should have done that not knowing how beastly even the 6mm pump is :-) I'm sure I'll upgrade someday not sure to what.
