Is their anyone one you who may be able to source a OM605 and export it to the US? The engine never was over here (USA). Alternatively i think i could bolt a 605 head on my 602. And since at least one of my pistons is trashed i could swap over to the 605/606 pistons. Ive seen a few 605 heads on Ebay for short money....

Thoughts?

P.S.I have a 602 super pump so it doesn't make since to go the 606 route for me.

Well if i remember right the 602 you have is a 2.9 L. with 89 mm pistons and 26 mm piston pin
605 turbo is 87 mm and 28 mm piston pin, so the best option is to get a 605 from europe, i just got 1 for my Ssangyong to use instead of my 662 engine.
If i was in Denmark i could get 1 for you but i am working in Malaysia and will only be back in Denmark on X-mas holiday.

I can supply you with 5x606n/a pistons with stock 87mm and 26mm pistonpin and you can buy a set of 5 h-profile rods with 26mm smallend from stenparnermotor in sweden.

The pistons ar not as strong as the turbo ones, but i think they can handle alot of stress!
How many hp are you aming for?

My 602 is the 2.5 version (only 602 we got in the US) so same bore as a 605/606.

I,ve done a lot of reading on the NA vs the turbo pistons. i don't think id chance going the route of the NA pistons. I would like to be in the high 300's. The current set up was very powerful but my EGT's were in the 1300 F range which may have been a bit hot. Thats the main motive for the thought on the 605...better air flow.

Is the issue with these rods the lack a material around/above the wrist pin bushing? I sure crower could make a set but lots of $$ no doubt.

I could get hold of most 605 parts in the uk, as well as complete engines. I looked into sending a container of engines to the USA and bringing good gas v8's as I know I can get engines you guys want and I could sell lsv8's all day long. Just don't have the money to do it.

The shipping was more than the engine. Around £300 GDP

But obviously it varies where in the states...

Bump bump.
There are many 605s on eBay in Germany and the uk. All are unwilling to ship to the USA. If some could help with this I would be more then happy to pay for their services. Again if a 605 can be had for around 1600-1700 with shipping I'm cool with that
