    Looking at a 1982 240D via internet pics. The trunk tag just says 'Diesel'

Thanks guys, I couldn't make out anything under all that. Now that you have pointed it out, I now recognize the end plug of the manifold under the LH side of the aircleaner. Found this four-speed car for about $600US with about 250K miles on the car and there is only a little rust on the rear wheel openings, and no grille. The paint actually looks great.

617 transplant is a fairly straight-forward thing to do? What are the main components that I would have to source from a donor? I am considering using Jurgen(see signature) as a parts car as I have also found another '85 300SD for $300US that is in better shape than him.
