Is it just me this happens to? My 190s off the road atm waiting for some work to get done on it, so I thought id buy something else to tide me over until its up and running again. I bought an e300td and was hoping for some easy hassle-free motoring, but no. Here I am into the 2nd week of ownership with no boost and now my powet steerings packed up (almost). I say 'almost' because it inly works when I turn left. Yes thats right, if I turn right the steering becomes heavy.

Anyone experienced anything similar? What could be the problem? Im guessing its the rack.

I have a w210 and touch wood it's been ok apart from the crank position sensor that went.
They have a dreadfull reliability record, the engine's the best bit by far.

W124 om606 HX40 finished and it's a beauty 450bhp/456ft-lbs

Try asking on here.

http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/

Maybe a better source for non turbo/pump type questions in the UK.

Had a 210. Steering rack replacement is a common repair for these cars.

Ok well not a lot I can do about that then! I'll just keep hammering the car until I swap the engine into my 190. Lets hope nothing else breaks!

Thanks for the help guys!
