I’m getting closer to commencing a OM606 w124 build. I have an HX40, KKD manifold, RS203 pump (yet to be sent to dieselmeken for the FULL MONTY) and of course an 606 turbo engine. I also have a spare 606N/A engine (cams??). (No - I can’t fucking wait to get this thing together!!!).

My question is this – with the increased fuelling – especially with the 8.0mm elements do you need to modify the injectors? And with all that extra fuel going into the pre-chamber should I increase the diameter of the 8 holes that lead to the combustion chamber?

Cheers!

Do you "need" to increase the burn hole diameters? that is an arguable subject..... Will you benefit from larger holes....yes... even with stock fueling.

I was hopeing that Jeemu would chime in as he has a high output 605 that he modded the prechambers on.

He passed some information on to me, but did so privately, so I have to honor his gesture with confidentiality as they are very serious about racing these engines over there.

I will tell you that increasing the total area of the burn holes will allow you to run more fuel and more advance, as more air will be able to be forced into the PC sooner, raising the air temp to ignition levels sooner.

With my turbo 616 engine, ( which has the same burn tube ID as yours) If I add up the total burn hole area, I have X% more burn hole area than tube area, (I do not have my notes in front of me to refresh my memory), but, I will be increasing the burn hole area even more when I get into the prechambers again.

My goal is to make the burn tube the bottle neck in the system so the velocity of the air that is filling the PC is higher when it passes through the tube.

I have been promised 270cc and it shall be able to hold on to 6800rpm

Do you have any input on the holes from the prechamber?

I was calculating on using a LP tubo as GTX4202R but majesty78 said GTX series is not well over 3 bars of boost, so I have second thoughts there

perhapes it would be double EFR 7163, will see when it will be available in match bot this summer hopfully, mayby they need to be helped by a GTX4508R as LP, but it is ridiculous expensive and big

Are you going to run larger dieseltubes and bigger injectors?

I have been doing some research on most other parts but now I am looking more on the injectors and hole for the pre chamber
