Have someone tried to start an 606 with just the automatic flywheel on? Is this to light so that its harmful for the crank? Heard from the bmw guys that they dont recomend to start the bmw diesels with anything that the manual flywheels attached.

dont do it tried it on a Cummins B engine while dyno it, destroyed 3 automatic belt tensioner big problems at idle but if you can mount something else its ok, i solved the problem by using a om352 flywheel just as weight and we dynoed the engine with no problems

I have done it several times and never had a problem. Other guys on this forum have done the same. Maybe we were luckySmile or the Mercedes 606 is so well build that the vibration is no problem?
