I'm trying to source a flywheel shim for the OM617 to improve the clutch engagement point. Anyone know if these are available? I'm striking out with Google.

You can shim the slave cylinder with PN#1242950087 or you could remove the gasket if you wanted to go in the other direction.

Just buy some shim stock or thin sheet metal and slide it in there.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

How about shimming the throwout bearing? Also the pushrod on the master cylinder may have an adjustable eccentric bolt.

The adjustment is maxed out on the master and the pedal goes almost to the floor before the clutch engages.
I like the idea of shimming the throwout bearing. That should be relatively cheap and easy.

While all the ideas are good, I should point out that the slave cylinder shims are MB's idea for correcting the issue. Adding shims will space the slave cylinder to the rear of the vehicle and raise the engagement point while removing the gasket will lower the engagement point. Not pulling the trans is also a nice thing:-)

I like the idea of the shim on the slave cylinder but I was thinking that adding a shim would reduce the travel of the throw out bearing which would make the shift point even lower not higher. Do I have my thinking backwards here?
