Anybody ever thought of making one of these? I have a manual trans in my W124 and, if you have one yourself, then you know this setup has an abundance of driveline slop. I intend to rid my car of this slop without turning it into a "cliterator", as a lady friend of mine likes to describe some motorcycles.

It's a mount that doesn't support weight but it does restrict the engine's movement. Done right, it provides the benefits of stiffer motor mounts without the drawback of having your fillings rattled out. O.E. example:

I was thinking about using 2 of these to fab my "dogbone" and attach it where the fuel thermostat was mounted to my block and weld some tabs to the lh frame rail to mount the other side.

I put in a urethane filled trans mount in my W123 wagon and it really stiffened up the slop. But the trade off was the extra vibration throughout the car. I think this would be a smart investment.

if it don’t blow black...take it back.
