hi all,

my '77 240D has steel wheels, no surprise there. here's the circle i want to square: lighter, bigger wheels so i can do the W126 brake upgrade and improve the sprung-unsprung weight ratio, but without losing the hubcaps.

so, i am willing to figure out how to adapt the clips or whatnot to fit the hubcaps to some 15" wheel. yes, the 1/2" edge of the wheel would show around the hubcap. i suspect that if the wheel were painted matte black this look wouldn't be awful.

are there any thoughts on what wheels in the world that may be 15", light, accept some kind of hubcap clips, and either have the right bolt pattern or else an adapter for the W123?

thanks for all clues!
aaron.

Skip the hubcaps and pick up a set of 15" wheels from a Mustang or Ranger. They will juuust fit, you may need to use wobble bolts. Cheap, and a wide selection of rims.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

if i were willing to lose the hubcaps i would just use the late W126 wheels.
