5 speed close ratio manual
Here is the list of 190E's that might have had this transmission.
l4 16V
I4 16V AMG p/p
l4 16V Evolution (Evo I)
I4 16V Evolution II (Evo II)
Was the close ration 5 an option or was it standard equipment on a specific model.
I'm looking for a close ration manual 5 speed that came in the 190E-2.5. Does anyone know what specific model had the close ration 5 in it?

My trans is from an '87 2.3 16v 190e. First is a little on the tall side for a turbodiesel and 5th, of course, isn't overdrive. There's always a good gear to grab:-)

12-10-2012, 05:06 PM #2They all had a 1:1 5th so I consider them all close ratio. The trans from the later 2.5 is more likely to have the shorter input shaft for the dual mass flywheel which is undesirable.

They are far and few in between. never seen another.
