it would require some seriously creative fitment, but has anyone tried hooking up two 617 injection pumps in parallel?

two round 5.5mm openings are a bit bigger than a single 7.5mm one.

ready to hear that i am crazy.
thanks,
aaron.

Whats the purpose? And yes, thats crazy.
Its not all about the size,5,5+5,5=11 vs 7,5 Its much moore, duration on element etc etc.
However, i did see a clip on youtube 6,2L Chevy V8 diesel with 2 Stanadyne DB2 pumps side by side.

It could be done with a modified block by driving the second IP from a second chain hooked to the vacuum pump sprocket. Timing it accurately would be insane.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

hi,
i had thought of this before also but timing both pumps would need to be spot on.

Perhaps you could put a shaft where the ip originally sat and have it extend out of the morot. Then you could drive both pumps of the shaft.

What engine are you talking about? If OM617A then you can go up to 10mm elements with one pump and that will be far enough to drown any OM617A I have seen until now.

LOL...There are 12mm elements that can be had, but they require heavy mods to the pump housing. I mean if the goal is to go crazy..... Big Grin

yes Volker, just curious about solutions that do not involve sending thousands of euros to Finland Smile
