Hello guys, can you help me to select best diff ratio for my car. In stock w124 2.5D turbo with automatic has 2.65 ratio. Right now i use 3.07 ASD diff from 300E. I need to change that diff because it is very noisy - dead gears.

In fact i dont need high max speed. I want to get fast acceleration, but with low fuel consumption.

What will be if i get 3.46 diff? I know the acceleration will be better but the RPM is also will be higher. So how it will affect fuel consumption?

Depends on how fast you go. If you do 70mph all the time then 3.46 is sure to affect it by a couple mpg.
