I bought a trans dipstick from AutohausAZ but ended up not needing it. 16 bucks new, I'll take $10 plus shipping.

Fits my '84 300TD, probably cross references to other cars.

1984 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Turbo - 260k miles - Daily driver
1982 Yamaha XV920RJ - 9k miles - Currently in pieces

I have valve wrenches and timing tools for rent! PM for details!
