I plan on upgrading my front brakes in the near future, just wondering if there are any brands of calipers and rotors I should try to steer clear of, or anything like that. I was looking on partsgeek.com and they seem to have a pretty good selection at reasonable prices, and I could probably get just about everything needed for around $200 or so, depending on what make of calipers and rotors I go with

Thanks

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Ate calipers are my first choice, but Bendix are good also. I would stay with the German made rotors, had troubles with all others that were used.

I have placed my order! Waiting on some re-manufactured ATE calipers, and some Beck/Arnley rotors.

ALSO!!!! If anybody has an extra set of the larger backing plates from a late w126 that aren't being used, I still need those.

Thanks!
