Last few weeks I been trying to get a plan together on how I will be getting my 606 into a w123/126. With a pic-a-part close at hand and with store credit (from buying a bad trans for my 190e) I feel like I could get something up there that came out of a mercedes for my 606 project. What would be a good idea for a auto 722.xxx trans for my case? IE bell housing bolts up to the block type deal. I understand that a custom length shaft is in order.

If you want a 722.6 transmission, get the 580 version. good for up to 580 Nm.. Then either the PCS TCM-2000 controller from http://www.soundgermanautomotive.com/ or a custom setup like Olefejer's.
The bellhousing should fit to any OM60x engine. Dunno about the 617 and so on.

I wouldn't mind getting an STD..Tongue

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but how do you know if a 722.6 is 580NM proof? or is it all 722.6 boxes?

Edit: Found it, it's all 722.6 boxes Smile

Where did you find this info?

I understood that just some boxes can handle 580NM and it is the boxes from v8Confused and stronger diesels.
