So i got an OM606 that I would love to replace the ford 302 in a 24 foot wellcraft.

Looking for 300 continuous horsepower at 3000-3300 rpm. I'm assuming the turbo needs adressing which is the easy part but the injection pump has me worried. I've got a 350sdl pump 0400076968 on hand that I'd love to use.

Does anyone know off hand if this pump can support fueling for the kinf of power I'm seeking? If not what mods are needed?

Thanks in advance...

Think you would be looking to turn the engine Faster than 3.3K to achieve that sort of power.

--At a guess, approx 4K5, maybe faster...

Its just possible that a Compressor may be needed to gain that sort of power at lower revs, but then this Could stress the bottom-end too much, I dunno

Yes--These engines can make high powers, But At High Revs. (Up to 500BHP and 7000 rpm they say)
-- The power curve of these tuned engines is very steep....

The pump you have from yer old 350 will need to be modified, its elements replaced with larger and set up correctly by a competant (Read, Specialist such as Dieselmeken) Injection shop.

A replacement Exhaust-manifold as well as suitable Turbo-charger will be needed.
--The original manifold is way too restrictive, (Read,--Crap) for much above stock powers--Done deliberately to get the emissions down to comply with 'Euro III'/Tier III, by high back-pressures and NOX reductions.
Another reason the turbos are very small in stock form IMHO.

M.B. made a Great engine,--possibly one of their best, then the Greenies force 'em to strangle the thing to death!

300hp @ 3300rpm=477lb*ft
300hp @ 3000rpm=525lb*ft

That's a build up that I'd like to read about.
