Hello guys.

I've bought an VNT-turbo from 220cdi W211, since my original turbo is singing on its last phrase.

I have questions about the steering of VNT.

My question is stupid, but I want to give it a try:
-What happens if I weld the "WG-rod", or pressure steering rod, in locked position, or lock the vacuum intake-line? Will it be driveable? it will propably give very high turbo pressure and the vnt-system want be able to be controlled, but still, will it work?!

You can lock it into one specific place, you will have to monitor your boost levels to find the sweet spot for the actuator. I had my GT2056 setup so that it would still make 8psi on the highway when vacuum was removed.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

The trick is to get the boost high and the back-pressure as low as possible,--Not easy!....

The turbo is much bigger than the stock turbo and with bigger exhaust it might reduce the back pressure a bit, or?

I will give it a try, both with open and closed actuator, and then try to adjust it both up and down, to see if I make it work...

For what it's worth, when I first ran my 2056V I had the actuator in backwards...The turbo spooled instantly , but wouldn't let me go beyond 2,000repm.

For what it's worth, when I first ran my 2056V I had the actuator in backwards...The turbo spooled instantly , but wouldn't let me go beyond 2,000repm.
