hello people,
i found out my 124/ 93 had a pressurized fuel tank, well the thing is that after a few mods in the engine, removing EGR and fan some other wires throttle valve etc, the pressurization desapeared along with the pressure feeding to the pre pump. the thing is when i need high feeding to the IP i dont have it anymore. feels like filter clogged.
anyone know how this pressurization is made?

I would guess exhaust.. ive seen a few petrol cars with a line from the egr to a canister with a filter in it.. and a line from there to the tank...

thanks for your guess, is not the case in this w 124, witch the pressurization goes in the tank through fuel return, i just dont know where it is generated, and u maybe right EGR , i removed EGR one day. the thing is i haven't seen over there no connections of whatsoever.

If it's diesel then the tank is not supposed to be pressurized.

My tank (w123) build up pressure, but I think that is due to temperature changes

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

My 1985 300SD builds up pressure, matter of fact I filled the car up last week which was the first time since August 2010. It had so much pressure that it was a bit of a pain to get the fuel cap to twist off.

well my problem is that when it was pressurized worked better, lol.
Maybe u can answer me a silly question, where does the vacuum breeding goes, inside the engine or some how goes to to fuel return line through IP, i watched very often several bubbles in the return line, to much of them to be from some air leak in the system, and of course one device is right close to the other.

There is a check valve under the vehicle that allows air into the tank. One end is open to the asmosphere with a rubber bellmouth at the open end facing down.

It would be boyle's law that applies here, BTW:-)

anyway, Boyle´s law pascal´s matter little , thing is that with temperature pressure will raise and the oposite happen, and volume will decrease with pressure at least for gasses, and for liquids if are able to compress the enough the will vaporize and same applies.

regarding the so famous valve u are talking about , humm in my tank that valve only allows pressure to get out when reaches a certain amount of pressure. that's why i´m having problems with the feeding.
anyway i will check it out to be sure.
