Wait, what he got shit done?!?!?
86+ Chevrolet 350ci v8 flywheel. K1500 trucks are a good place ot start looking. NAPA, advance, GM, junkyards, etc. have them cheap. Needs to be the flywheel for "The SBC with a one-piece rear main seal" because apparently people don't understand numbers.

The SBC pattern is 6x3", OM617 is 12x103mm.

Edit: Just placed an order for the intermediate plate (same dims as on the DXF in the engine sticky). In 2-3 weeks I'll get to see how sharp my measuring skills are Tongue

I take it this is to adapt a GM transmission, orrrrr..........??

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Yarp, gots me a SM465 granny box. 6.35:1 first gear, clunky, and 500 miles between gears.

Gotta get a bigger bellhousing though, the one I have is only 12" and that's a 14" flywheel....

You plan on pulling some stumps or what!? And any possibility of adding an overdrive on the back?

My Dad's Yodge has a 6-something first, and it was awesome to drive during rush hour. Just idled at like 2-3mph, no wearing out the clutch like my 3.7-something DD

Fourth is still 1:1 so I'll match my axles & tires around that

With that low gear you could go like 2:1 rear gears haha

-Plate is in. Need to countersink, tap, and ream the holes. (M12 and M10 reamers ordered.)
-Need to install it on the engine, then check runout vs the chebby bell
-Fit drilled flywheel, and test fit mercedes starter vs chebby 14" clutch. Cut out mounting hole, add to DXF drawing
-Buy a 12" chebby clutch (90s camaro?) and test fit vs the starter again. I'd like the plate to be able to use either.
-Source pressure plate, pilot bearing, shift fork, throwout bearing, etc. and test fit.
-???
-Profit!

FYI-the bolts that hold the trans plate into the block are M10x1.5 This also goes for the 603

Some changes that I need to get into the sticky:
SBC pins are 5/8" NOT 1/2"(ford is 1/2")
Mercedes locating pins are 12MM
Mercedes block are M10x1.5 NOT M12

I got lucky when reaming the holes, the drill press table vibrates just enough to make the plate skitter aroud and self-center.

Hopefully picking up a bell housing on Monday, 5/8 reamer due in Tuesday, then slap bang time.
