I am building an old Scout Terra with a Mercedes 617. I am going to be running an SM465 transmission and a 203/205 doubler. The axles are Dana 44's with a detroit locker in the rear and an Ox locker in the front. I will probably run 35" tires. I will daily drive it, as well as take it to Moab for some offroading.

So far I have removed the body from the Scout and sanblasted.everything. I coated.everything with Por15 to prevent.rust. I built motor mounts and have the engine sitting in place adapted to the motor. The 203 and 205 are sitting on the bench waiting to be conncted. I would.like to buy the oil filter adapter I have seen on this sight.

The first picture is of the victims. The Benz motor is bolted to an SM465. I am still working on my 203/205 doubler. The Scout was sandblasted, and I covered it with Por15. I have the motor in and mounts welded up. I am building a cage in the Scout and thought it would be cool to put it in between the panels. I also stretched the Scout and had to move the rear wheel wells. I must say My projects get carried away. Here is a picture of my $bt Scout I am just finishing up. It is a 4BT, NV4500, NP205, Dana 44's with an ARB locker in the rear. Custom cage, bumpers, sliders, etc...

I sure would like to find a Mercedes diesel guru close to me. I am living in Idaho and Utah depending on the week.

I am a little concerned. The adapter plate on this Scout does not.allow me to bolt in the stock oil pressure sending unit. Does anyone know what size that hole is or a 90 degree fitting that will fit it? I contacted a member here via pm about buying a block off plate for the oil filter but have had no response. Does anyone have suggestions to over come this problem?

I have put a few hours into the Scout. I installed the clutch, as well as the 203/205. I have been working on body work. Here are a few pics!
Here is my triple stick shifter for my t-cases
[Image: 20120209_183039.jpg]
Here is the crossmember I fabricated for the t cases
[Image: 20120209_160725.jpg]
Here it is in place.
Another shot.

The motor is looking a little dusty from body work. It looks like the radiator is going to hook right up to the stock hoses. I have the oil cooler hoses run. Now I need to get the acceleration pedal linkage to work. Then I will install the steering wheel, steering, etc... I am still not sure how I am going to plug off the hole where the oil sending unit was. I would like a spin on.
