(06-18-2012, 01:19 PM)Ducos Greetings from ålesund!
What diff are you using?! does it hold up?? haha

Creds on your build !! Smile love it!!

Hi,
Ålesund is a nice place, have been thereTongue
The diff is a w124 ASD diff with 3.24 gearing, custom 125mm flanges and shortened w129 35mm axelsSmile Works fine, but i am positive that the diff will break soonConfused Too much torqueTongue
If that one breaks, i have a w129 210mm diff with a 2.2 gearingBig Grin But this needs welding, or some diferentiallockSmile

(06-18-2012, 08:41 PM)sassparilla_kid Do you have enough outboard motors? haha

Yes, I work at a local Mercury dealer...So i fix alot of out/inboard enginesWink

Amazing perseverance!
Where did you get your 8000rpm valve springs from may I ask? Also I'm currently looking for a wastegate, what wastegates are you using? and why two? Better control, or is it your manifold?

This is the type of work everyone have to dedicate to their engines, if everyone at least have 1/3 of your knowledge, specially me! LOL
Keep up with the good project. Soon I will also put a 606/603 on my w115 and that will be a huge task, but first I have to remove all the rust in it!! Smile

PS: I noticed that you don't have any engine/AC fan, you don't have too much sunny hot days there to need it!? :-D
The space for the fan is minimal right?

Here did i got the springs: http://kmcams.com/product_info.php?cPath...cts_id=885
They are really cheap, and the fit the stock retainer. Custom botom shims is needed.
I have a twinsroll turbo, so therefore i have two wg...Then i can split the pressure in the two exhaust chambersWink

Why did you weld the back side of your flywheel?

Haha, who knows Erling...Time will show!
I had to weld the startertooths to the flywheel bacuase I had to take away so much material, that the startertooths would fall off if haden`t Smile
The turbo is a T70 super, similar to Garrett T-61.. I have a bigger turbo as well, but hope this will do for nowWink

Nice project! The rear axel is the weak link in the 201. Is the 2,3 16v rear axle any stronger than the W124? I know that the BMW e28 rear axle bolts right on the w124 bolt holes, just need a custom diff mount. And then you can use the big "210" Bmw 7-serie diff. But i dont think there is any option like that to the 201. Maybe you can use a e28 rear end and shorten it to be narrower?

Im from Norway and doing a 606 swap in a 201 myself, so its really nice to see what needs to be done with the driveline!

A friend of mine is running the 530D tranny and BMW "210" diff in his E21 with a S54 engine. The only thing that been broken this season is a joint on the propshaft and plenty of tiresSmile Im pretty sure that BMW parts is a cheap and strong solution when it comes to driveline.

210cc pump was to much for this china turbo...
Listen to the strange sound everytime the turbo hits boost!

Finally i found your project thread, its awesome. And i have to say its also informative in many ways. Ive got w123 om606 turbo. It has been running very nice, but im always planning for upgrades. Since you are removing the compressor, are you not happy with it? Ive been dreaming of a compressor but im not really sure. Maybe i should keep on searching for a better turbo, at the moment its a hx50

Hello thereSmile

The compressor is going away becuase it takes to much space and the intake is not good regarding the flow! The compressor and turbo works really good in a daily driver, because you get boost instantlyWink
Now i am building a compound setup with a hx60 and maybe a hx40Wink

Can you tell me what the size of your turbine housing is, and when do you have full boost?

Well i have to check, its from a scania 9liter v8. It kicks in at 3500. Max boost is now 1,6 bar. And max revs is approx 5300. Full boost only between 4000-5200Huh It keeps the boost through gearchanges(3,4&5) but the thing is i cant get it spinning on first and second gear. If i figure out how to post pictures i got the dynochart with previous settings.

You need to meassure the little and big diameter on the compressor wheelWink

I am building my own pump, capable to over 800 litres/hour, so you need some 044 pumps to beat me! But holley makes ggod feed pumps, and offcourse you can use the 044 pumps, but they are very expensiveSmile

The new setup on this engine will be a 3 staged turbo system, with boost from idle and up to top rpm... No more info on this now, i will post picture when the setup is builtWink

I have worked on the HX60 that will be delivering the air in my setup...The exhaust housing was a 27cm, and will be downsized to about 18-20cm!

That sounds real interesting. I have yet to actually see a 3-stage turbo setup - most people, and companies, end up using at most 3 turbos in a two-stage setup. BMW with their two high-pressure turbos that gate in and out for better response.. and drag racers/sled pullers with two low-pressure turbos for massive amounts of air.

Depending on how small the high-pressure turbo has to be, you might have to use a wastegate+bypass air valve to bypass it at higher RPMs.
