This is really nice, Thanks alot for the videocliip, i`ll take it to my dieselmeken facebooksite if its OK with you.
It seems to have a litttle bit of overfuelling, but as you wrote, its easy to fix now that you have a gearbox that is OK.
Also, the fact that you dont have any ALDA on the pump, It can bee seen in the cloud of smoke before boost is rised. Nice job with engine / gearbox.
Come back when you got max out of the pump and it not is enough and you need moore, then I fix it.

Here is the tranny build picturesBig Grin
The bellhousing is from a old 5 speed mb tranny, and the gearbox is a GS5-39DZ from a BMW E39 530d. This can handle up to 1000nmBig Grin

We started like this:

The bmw inputshaft fits inside the stock mb bearing (35mm*15mm*10mm)

Spotwelded one side and adjusted the tranny so it aligned up with the engine
[Image: IMG_4063.jpg]

We was almost empty of gas that night, so the welding wasn`t perferct...But it holdsSmile

I will uppgrade the rear flexdisc from 90mm to 110mm today, and also the axle from the diesel w211 has a bigger splines and bigger joint on the middle, so i hope it will hold now...And i found some 12.9 bolts, so i can tighten them even moreBig Grin

Hi, I have been following this thread with interest for quite some time now. After seeing all of those broken parts, I am just curious if you have put the car on a dyno to see how much hp and torque this car has?

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

After a little breakdown, with the chain snapped and ruined my valves and camshafts I have now started on the rebuild! The motor is on my stand in the garage and I am uppgrading some vital parts this time to ensure a good and longlasting engineSmile

The wedge on the chainsprocket on the crankshaft has got an "Jeemu style" uppgradeSmile

Here is the stock 606 sprocket with the original wedge.

I have drilled a 5mm hole trough the spcrocket and hammerd a 5mm rodwedge in there (dont know the exact english word for it)

This upgrade is because the pump and camshafts are now heavier to drive, plus as jeemu says...We now have som trottle respons and th rpm drops and raises a BIT faster than a stock engineTongueTongueTongue

And the old supercharger has got an uppgrade with some new bearings and some portingBig Grin

I am also thinking of mounting a smaller pulley on it...The ratio now is 1:2 and the old was 1:3!
1:3 is a bit to much, as the pulley is so small that the belt is just slipping. So 1:2,5 is much betterBig Grin

What caused the breakdown? Valvesprings? High rew? Do you have ant harder springs now? How did the pistons look, Have the 606 burned the fuel as expected or do you need moore?
Anyway, thanks for sharing, now it seems to bee bulletproof. (again!)Smile

I have talked and discussed with many buddies, and it looks like the chain split in half at 6000rpm, and then the camshaft was still spinning and thats why all 24 valves are bent and both camshafts are destroyd.
The piston said "careface" to the incident, so they are as good as they always have beenTongue

I am uppgrading springs now! My contact in Norway is on the caseWink

My engine swallows the diesel and burns it perfectSmile I will test some other things to get more power out of the same amount of fuel, but I think I need moreSmile
We all hope that you dont give up about better elements Big Grin

Since the stock valvesprings is just 15kg springrate, and the new one is 36kg! The camgear must be secured better...

Do you have enough outboard motors? haha
