im still in the prosses of the project but ill post some stuff up of what ive completed.

i picked up a junkyard motor for a 100 bucks i didnt think it was that bad a the time i should have inspected it more it had a cracked oil pan cracked thermostate housing and no wiring cost alittle more to fix all that than i wanted but it ok i just hope the engine runs i havent gotten that far yet.

i started tearing into it the internals were near perfect the outside was very greasy lots of oil leaks.
after cleaning i found this from when the fork lift operator droped it when moving it for me at the junk yard thanks buddy.
i didnt loose hope in it and i wasnt going to pay for a new one so i just cut off the broken parts to fab up a sheet metal pan.
since i was missing the glow harness i decided to make my own i used a ford started soliniod a push button and some heavy guage wire for the harness its simple and hopfully effective. any one done this before?
i used a vacuum control valve off the toyotas 22re emmision system to make the fuel shut off work properly.
this is my throtle linkage im rethinking this right now the old linkage was badly damaged from it being droped so i have to piece it together.
rewiring the toy harness to work with this engine not to complicated just a few changes i had to extend the alt harness to the pass side and wire in the fuel shut off in to the ignition on/off side of the system.
her is a couple random shot of the project.
G58 tranny
[Image: 037.jpg]
GM 130 amp alt had to build a bracket for this one its simple ill post a picture of the bracket soon.
the adapter plate is .25 thick steel i havnot finished it im waiting on the pilot bearing adapter currently when i get that i can align the tranny and mark the holes for it. thats the main thing that is holding me back when i get the two bolted togethere i can fab some motor mounts and plum everything together.

for the oil cooler im using an earls 10 row cooler with -10an lines i used weld on male AN adapters welded to the original oil line hookups on the filters housing the cooler will be mounted to the under side of the hood with loovers and a electic fan mounted to it i will also post pictures of that set up when i an done.

this is my power steering cooler its small but effective this will also be mounted to the hood on the same fan as the engine oil cooler.

I've used the same glow-relay setup on my '82 300D for a while now and it works for me

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )

yeah the rain will go down in there but usuming all my wiring is some what weather proofed it wont matter and also this is a offroad vehicle water and mud is constantly get splashed up under the hood for my aplication it does not matter but for a nice vehicle like the one that this engine came came out of it would matter.

ok i made a little progress but i also took a few steps backwards as well. ive got the engine in some of the electrical done and some of the fuel system done. my biggest problem is that my steering system doesnt not come close to clearing my oil pan so im going to have to natch the bottom of the pan to allow for clearance. other than that everything is goin good heres some picks.

The powder coating must be temperature resistant or regular powder coating will do the job?

regular powder coat will do fine i just need to find a place in the area that can do the wrinkle finish for me

tell him its worth every penny the throttle response is amazing in low rpm situations and the power to weight ratio is spot on.
