Heyy what's up everyone!? I'm Carlos, I'm 17 years old, I'm from Houston, Texas, I'm currently attending High School, I'm a senior, graduating class of 2012!, and this is my ride. :]

I have a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 300SD W116 chassis. This is my first and current car. I received it from my grandfather on March 13th, 2010, and well let's say it was in not soo good condition but it was all original, no maintenance had been done and rarely did anything work lmfao. It had been sitting in a shop for a little over 2 years, and I'm surprised that thing turned on I was shocked! Lmao After that special moment of seeing her come to life I feel in love. Well I was 14 at the moment and ever since I've been hooked on Diesel powered Mercedes-Benzes. & I've learned alot from the members of SUPERTURBODIESEL! Big Grin Since the day I got her, till now I've been working on her with my father, slowly repairing and personalizing it to my desired goals.

Looks great! I love the black paint except for some small details (just my taste, please don't mind).... I would have left the back-writing chrome (300SD / Turbodiesel) and the back lights unpainted - and I'd also go for euro headlamps...

Otherwise the car is in excellent condition, no dents and a perfect line! Kudos!

Tuck your bumpers and put non tinted tails in it. I'm not really a fan of tinted tails but it's your car. It looks good matte black. Looks like they did a good job. I thought about doing my roof and pillars matte and leaving the rest gold.

Thanks! Big Grin Well the reason th back-writing was painted Gloss Black is because the logos were old and the color was damaged. They weren't chrome anymore they were like sunburned gray. Lol The black lights were painted because they were old and their color was messed up aswell. I wouldn't mind installing Euro Headlights. And thanks again!

Hmm I might tuck the rear bumper. The reason I smoked the tailights is because the color was damaged, and I'm trying to accomplish the "Murdered Out" look. & Thanks! Big Grin I'd say go for it, she will look unique.

Well, Imma be straight up, the radar came with the car, that's the one accesorie I didn't install, lol and well to be honest it's really old skool lmfao I don't think it's very precise, though it does work. But let's face it, this heavy tank is never gonna be going fast enough to get a speeding ticket. Tongue

Haha it's not brass. That would be awesome. Lmao I honestly don't know what type of metal it is.

The 1978 W123 230 g@sser I owned in Germany 1992-95 had a metal oil filler cap.

Is that a Stant 313 cap on the coolant reservoir? Had any problems with overheating?

love the trim delete. How was that handled? did you weld in the holes or fill them somehow? We were discussing this a while back over in the body section. Whatever was done looks excellent, not even a whisper of warpage.

Im thinking of doing the same on my 115.

I also think you should go euro lights if you can find them, just an amazing difference in the overall look of the front, would look great with that bumper you have going on!

(09-13-2011, 12:02 AM)JustPassinThru The 1978 W123 230 g@sser I owned in Germany 1992-95 had a metal oil filler cap.

Is that a Stant 313 cap on the coolant reservoir? Had any problems with overheating?

Wow that's sweet! I've always dreamed of visiting Germany, and driving in the autobahn. Haha It's a Stant Manufacturing 10329. And no, I've never had overheating problems in the past.

Hahaha allright, I'll remove the similar looking pics.
(09-13-2011, 11:34 AM)dropnosky love the trim delete.

Thanks! Big Grin And well my father and I filled it with bondo. Haha I might get the Euros, hopefully. Lol Smile

Haa you bet, the real chrome stands out in this baby in my school, not like the little ricer Honda Civics with the stick on chrome accents. Lmfao Tongue & Thanks! Big Grin
