Hi.
I have read a lot regarding adjusting the RSF governor on the m-series pump, and there seems to bee a lot of "forumknowhow" by people that never ever have done some proper adjusting on a governor. They seems to have got their knowledge through different kind of forums only. When a "forumexpert" tells another to do this and that, it seems in 90% of the cases that the guy that did the adjust suddenly doesnt have any idle, or that the engine not will go down in revs and so on.

I have made a small clip how I do this adjustment as a professional dieseltech. Yes, I call myself professional, I have the knowledge about this.

This is a clip that shows not only the basic settings that can be done in any good dieselworkshop, this shows what I do when my customer needs a pump that can perform at maximum and still work as it shall do on the engine, that is no afterrewing etc.
The pump in the clip is a 6 mm, 90cc @1500rpm. It shall bee mounted in a Volvo terraincar ( is that the right spelling?)If you have interest in this and 11 minutes over, take a look, If you still want to do as the "forumexperts", dont look. Write down your comment here or on Youtube or on both places

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z2qJx1yHoI

I will be happy to explain if there is any doubt about this, I dont think that none of you have seen this kind of clip before, this is "knowhow" and that is not so good to share according to Bosch.

There is no doubting your professionalism, you have all the cool gadgets to make it feasible and the knowledge to make it exceptional.

Having watched your video I see there are a few other things that need to be considered with building a custom bench.

Will removing the max stop on a unmodified pump make any additional gains?

(09-01-2011, 02:00 PM)winmutt Will removing the max stop on a unmodified pump make any additional gains?

Yes, but not more than 1-1,5mm on a stock pump, maybee 5-8% more fuel BUT and this is important, there is a risk that the governorweight will go into the arm inside with damage as result. The stop is there for a reason.

To all you other, thanks for your positive feedback to my small informationvideo about RSF on M-seriepumps.

I adjusted my pump last night, after seein your videoSmile

This is on a Om606.910 with just a Eaton M90, that makes 0.8 bar in boost.
Stock Pes6 55m pumpSmile
Adjusted the Tourq capsule spring +0.8mm(Tried +1.5 and ended up with almost a runaway) The Full load screw out 4.5 turns ccw, bottomed the stop screw...The car pulls very good all the rpm range, with almost no black smokeSmile Did 8.8 sec 0-100km/h with 2 people and slipping in 1st gear!! VERY PLEASEDSmile
So thanks for a great video!

Why 5,5mm? Why not 6 or 7,5?

I don`t know how much rack travel i have... It`s the stock pump i use, 5.5mm elements. It`s just for fun that i use the 55 pump, and now i now how much it can giveSmile I see small amount of black smoke troughout the rpm range, so i think i`ve hit the nail with the adjustmentSmile
I will order some elements soon, but can you give me a Bosch number on some good elements? 7.5mm?
My shop here in Norway can get them for meSmile

We really owe it to Göran/Dieselmeken since he is willing to share information like this and provide it via video.

Honestly, I can't think of any other shops or individuals who have shared anything close to this when it comes to injection pumps. All too often, the shops/individuals are quite tight lipped when it comes to injection pump adjustment and tuning.

I know we're trying to find a shop in the USA to do element swaps and pump stand tuning, but I believe this man really deserves some of our business and is very well qualified to complete the job.

Beers,

Matt

This is what I have been talking about!! We need to get this guy in contact with someone stateside that can reproduce his work (assuming dieselmeken is okay with this). I would be more than willing to send some money your way Meken!

PS - Did anyone see his other Youtube video with a stock 603.960 with 7mm Pump? It was ridiculous!

Yes, this is my "testcar", nothing that I am proud over, but the engine works OK. The only thing that is done with this one is a bigger pump, nothing else.
It runs smooth on idle, works ok But the chassie is ready for the junkyard.

For the moment std turbo, just 0,9 bar of boost.
The pump gives just 90cc@1000 rpm in this issue.
In a couple of months its going to go thru some minor modificationsHuhRolleyes

Sorry to say, but I drive 2006 BMW 330 diesel private. Hope you dont judge me for that.

On the second picture you can see my miniature schnauzer, he is 11 years old and you have one (1)) guess on his name.................Diezel of course!

Since you are not proud of it, how about you send it to me here in the states? I'll be very proud of a pump putting out 90cc!

Do you have external adjustments on your pumps? Is it good to have in your opinion?

It must be different in Europe cause here in the states racing stickers are 1-2hp EACH here and increase exponentially. That and spoilers, and let's not forget primer paint...that combo will give any river about 300hp itself. Unfortunately all of this only is applicable stateside, sorry.

Oh, didn't know this. Now it is clear why my US import 300SD is so slow as those things only work stateside.
Can you imagine that our tuning kids even "clean" their cars?

See guys, this is why I need a pump in the wagon...I'm gonna stomp these cars left and right. I've done my due diligence; HX35, Lorinser Bumper to put and intercooler behind, and I'm in contact with a transmission guy. Just waiting on elements and a place to tune here (or something reasonable in cost from DieselMeken!)
