I hope this is the right forum for this...

Alright, I've been fighting this thing for months now...

My 1985 300SD California up and quite in me. It is most likely the result of a failed attempt at running a WVO blend. My blend was wrong. I ended up with stuck injector nozzles.

I cleaned all the nozzles, and replaced 2 injectors, since they were non turbo units. So now I have all 5 turbo (135 bar) injectors and all the nozzles work. It was new filters, and I flushed the injector pump with gasoline to clean out the wvo. I flushed it with fresh store bought petro diesel after I put all the injectors back in. The hand primer seems to work just fine. I get lots of fuel out of the return line when I use the hand primer.

I have tried at least half a dozen times to start the car since I did the injectors. I have left the hard lines loose at the injectors to bleed them, but it still will not start. Won't even try. Cranks just fine, plenty fast enough, at first anyway, till the battery drains. All new bosch glow plugs too.

Compression is low but within specs.

What the heck am I missing? Is there a bleed port somewhere that I need to open? Should I crack the hardlines at the pump, instead of at the injectors?

Thanks!
Brian

Leave them off at the injectors. Crank till you get a good squirt out of them. Hook them back up and try it. If still no go I'd take a spare injector and hook it up out of the engine to see if the pump can make the pop pressure anymore.

Just to clarify, do just as Capt. said. But, have someone else cranking while you are tightening the injectors 1 at a time. If you can do it to the firing order, that would be the "Purist"way.

Ok, I have I think, 3 vac lines plus the ALDA line running to my pump. Do any of these need to have vacuum present in order for the engine to run? Or does the vacuum just make it shut off?
