Hello,
I have a 1999 W202 C250 Turbo Diesel.
Does anyone know what the standard elements in the pump are, are they 6mm?
How much power can these elements run not taking into account the turbo etc?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

5.5mm elements

How much power?
With smoke I think you can get approx. 70 ccm instead of approx. 55 ccm which is equivalent to hp if you can supply the air.

Ok thanks, I thought that the OM605.960 had 6mm as fitted in the OM606.
I was hoping to be running around 200hp. Will I need to change the elements, would the simplest option be to buy an OM606 pump and swap the elements?

do a calculation how much you pay for a 606 pump with 6mm elements and 60 EUR/element with 7.5mm diameter.
Or go cheap and get 7mm elements (45 EUR/piece).
Do a search for mantahead with the same engine.

Thanks for your help Tom. E300TD are common in the UK so getting an OM606 pump would be a easier option. I’m not looking to make figures that would need 7.5mm elements.

the delivery valves are identical on the 2 pumps, no idea what is the difference of the elements.

(sorry for my mistake, did not realise it is the electronic governor pump)

1418305554 has a retarded slot for later ignition at low fuel quantity 553 doesent have that.

I have a Garrett GT2359V and will be programming the ECU to control the vanes. The car already has an intercooler fitted.

I’m struggling to find any info on the standard boost level or what the turbo can safely run?

It was somewhere around 20psi stock. For the GT22 anyways. Watch your intake temps to see how far you can go, the temp will rise sharply at the limit (28?).

I'd be more interested in max and optimal EGP for our engines.

Thanks, I’ll probably keep it around the stock level. What power figures will I be looking at realistically with the correct mapping of the VNT? Removing the EGR and cat will be the only other modifications.
