So I fixed my AC and it was really cold, I got in it a couple of hours later and it only blows heat..... I checked the fuses cuz I figured maybe it had blown a fuse there was a fuse blown but that wasn't the issue.... Now some times if I'm lucky I can turn it on and the AC works great and others only heat...... The compressor still comes on, the fan inside blows and will switch to defrost and both panel and floor..... I think it might be the thing under the dash that controls heat v.s. Cool but what else should I check and does anybody know what models I could get that piece from also?

Check Temperature sensor hose in the dash (from the opening right above those two vents to the blower), and also try replacing the entire pushbutton unit.

Can I just unplug the thing? How do I know if it works or nor

I think you can get rebuilt ones on ebay for like $40
