Hello all!

I'm quite glad to have found this community and look forward to spending more time here and learning a bunch!

I'm hoping that you folks can help me. I'm a long time mechanic and hot rodder but I'm new to diesel. I am interested in putting a om617 turbo in to my '99 Jeep XJ. The transmission adepter plate is available and I've done a bunch of different swaps so not too much trouble there.
However, I know next to nothing about the om617 and mechanical injection diesel. Are there any on line resources you could point me to? Downloads of shop manuals or good web pages? I've got a steep learning curve before I turn the first wrench!

On another note, what would be "the best of breed" for the car I would use for a donor? My plan would be to buy a running om617 powered vehicle and both get some hands on time with the engine and get it running in good form before I begin the swap.

Many thanks!

Rich

Hey Capt. thank you for the links! That should get me started.

Here is a video of a Wrangler with a om617:

This is the same guy who sells the adepter plates, here he is running it in the mud:

Is there a "best year" to start with?

TIA
