Now that DeliveryValve has found a pump shop that will work with us for a reasonable price, It's time to get this group buy started.

Price looks to be $12 per element, or $60 for a set of 5. It is advised to get an extra in case of any defects.

We have yet to see who will coordinate the fund collection and actual purchase, but will let you know ASAP when we know.

If you can commit to buying a set, then please post back with the number of elements you will buy.

Please also indicate if you would like to take advantage of the group pump rebuild+element install that DV is working on. If we have enough people, it will be ~ $500 for the rebuild+install, which is a deal of the century.

EDIT:
All posts not involving people buying the elements will be removed/deleted.

These are non-german made, might cause problems, we know that.

The seller is not a spammer, he was contacted by our admin via email and invited.

Watch this post and the one below for more information.

Let me add the part number we are ordering is
1 418 415 058

Originally used on Bosch MW pump PES6MW80/320RS1104-1

I am down for 6 units.

EDIT: Some folks have been inquiring where they can potentially get their pumps rebuilt with new elements.........

Nobody that I know has done a Bosch MW Injection Pump 8mm Element install before. If the 8mm checks out that it can be installed, I found Diesel Power Systems (DPS) in Bakersfield, CA is willing to install and calibrate the MW Chinese 8mm elements for $400-$500 provided we do a group purchase of the service.

This price will include disassembly and cleaning of the Bosch MW Injection Pump, new gaskets, installation of 8mm Chinese elements and calibration. There is addition cost if some hard parts (i.e. bearings, etc) are worn and need replacement. We will need to send DPS a MW Pump and the 8mm Chinese elements around the same time to be determined later so we can get this price.

There is no warranty for the IP if Chinese or non-Genuine Bosch elements are install for the pump. The pump will be balanced, calibrated, and set up so the end user will only need to set the timing and make low idle adjustments.

This install price is the same if you want other sized elements or other brands i.e. Chinese or Bosch 10mm, tomnik’s 7mm Holly and etc.

DPS can offer their 1 year standard warranty by them providing genuine Bosch 8mm for $250-$300 per element. DPS will fix any problem with the pump, including parts or labor. The warranty does not cover any IP removal or installation costs, or freight expenses.

More information found in the 8mm elements thread.
.

Update: We are rolling the dice and making a 12 unit sample purchase of 8mm MW elements part number 1 418 415 058 through RaderAuto.

Dieselkraut and 300D50 are taking the first set. I will work with Kris at DPS to do a test fitting of the 8mm element on Dieselkraut's IP.

Shipping for the 12 units is $52. If you committed fellas or anybody on the board want to make a donation towards shipping to lower the monetary risk that these guys are setting forth, it would be greatly appreciated.

PM me if you want to donate.

There is a risk in ordering these elements. People should know that the quality is unknown and who ever is joining in this group buy should be aware it may or may not work out. So buyer beware.

With that said, nobody has posted that they've used this before, so we are the pioneers who will take the plunge for the world to see if it is possible to get a cheaper solution.
So send us good thoughts and vibes, not negative to see us fail.

(04-20-2011, 04:13 AM)stan ETA on the elements? and will the pumps be off to the shop soon after the elements are stateside?

Just to give you all an update.

Richard @ raderauto informed me they can not fulfill the sample order. MW element production is now in June.

He has offered to return the money via PayPal after I sent $190 plus $14 transaction fee via Western Union.

I am currently waiting to get a refund. After I get the refund, we will look at other company options.

Honestly you might be better off waiting till June, I have a feeling that these websites are all retailers for the actual manufacturers and that one manufacturer is actually doing the work. It might be a good idea to put some feelers out with other companies and see if they report the same thing RE June.

When I first started looking at elements, I wanted to try the 8mm ones. When I got a quote, (from different outfit), they were in stock , then when I went to order they were out and where not sure when new production would be, that is why I decided to mod the 10mm ones, they are more common place and easy to get.

I think I got a quote from a place in California of around $50.00ea, but did not pursue that source.

I am currently waiting to get a refund. After I get the refund, we will look at other company options.

Another update. I got a refund from Rader Auto via PayPal of $182.29. This after $7.71 in PayPal fees.
I requested for reimbursement of the $14 Western Union Fee, but I guess their management only approved the $190. I also requested reimbursement for the PayPal fees, but it looks like a $21.71 loss for this attempted transaction. The donations helps with this loss. Thanks guys!

On the bright side, Richard @ rader auto has been responsive to e-mails and kept his word on the reimbursement. Rader Auto is not out to steal money. I believe had they the product, it would of been shipped to me.
But somewhere along the line, their inventory communications got screwed up. If in June we still are in a need, they still could be an option.

In the mean time I've sent a request to Chinahanji, the same company shredator successfully used. But they have not been as responsive. It seems like I get a response once a week.

The 8mm quest continues....

Update 5/4.

I've been trying to get a response from Chinahanji. After they gave me a price with no shipping quote, I never heard from them again. Even after several e-mails in the past serveral weeks. I was hoping to get a response because they said they take PayPal.

Last night I contacted diesel-parts-store.com and they claim to have the elements in stock for $11.5. They will send over an invoice for 12 units hopefully by tonight. They only take Wester Union and Moneygram like RaderAuto.

5/10 update, diesel-parts-store.com flaked and has not gotten me an invoice. Chinahanji, the guy I was dealing with apparently left the company and after weeks I get this e-mail stating so and they don't have it in stock but can make a production run if 500 units are purchased.

I found another place Hongkong Xinyun Diesel Parts Plant (AKA Swenden worlddieselparts power Co., Ltd.) from trading site www.alibaba.com. They claim they have them in stock but the picture they sent me has a flange that looks too thick.

I think the pump will have to be re-studded to make it work. They are asking for $12.50 a unit. I will ask if they could get the flange thiner.
The flange thickness for the stock Mercedes is 5mm.

On another note regarding actual pump rebuilding. STD members kmaser and SurfRodder are going to have tomnik's 6.5 Holly elements in an MW pump calibrated by Diesel Power Systems. I will be sending their pumps over once I get both of them in. Looking forward to seeing the results on their pumps!

I am using "thick" flanged elements and the threads for the delivery valve holders are different than the "thin" flange elements. I am not sure if they are all like that, but I thought I would mention it.

The studs do need to be changed as well.

I have Lisa's email address at chinahenji and she is pretty good at getting back to me. I have been waiting for 5 months for the 10mm elements to come off back order! I didnt know there were 8mm ones available or i would have asked about those! 10mm elements seem a bit excessive anyway. I just emailed her about the 8mm elements and delivery valves so maybe ill get somewhere.
So these are for thick mw plungers? Are we sure these will work with the mw pump? I think the thin mw is what comes on them. will they just need re-studded?

UPDATE: 2011/6/13. This has been a disappointing process to say with these different companies. I am glad your in communication with Lisa at Chinahanji. Their former employee Vincent left me hanging. Then I get an e-mail from another who said they were going to check back for me. Never heard from the person.

I got antsy and after several back and forth e-mails with Huangshi Industrial, I rolled the dice on a set of 6 at $17 plus shipping and western union fees ($169.00) couple of weeks ago. A little more expensive then I anticipated, but I just want them here so I order them.
I have not heard of whether they shipped the product out yet. So I am keeping my fingers crossed. As soon as they arrive, dieselkraut will be sending me his pump and I'll have them installed. Until then, we are in a holding pattern.

On another note, kmaser and SurfRodder's pumps are Diesel Power Systems- Becs Pacific Ltd. They are having tomnik's 6.5 mm Holly elements installed. Kris at Becs Pacific opted to send SurfRodder's pump to their Fresno shop to have the elements installed there. The technician up there is also into Mercedes and has done performance testing on them. He will take the lead installing and testing out the Hollys up there and the data will be used as a tool for tuning other pumps in the future.
We'll let you all know how that turns out.

I ordered the 8mm elements. The part number was 1 418 415 058. But I requested a thin flange. So I am not sure what the part number is.

I have not gotten a confirmation of the product has been shipped, so hold tight for contact information.

I'm beginning to think nobody has the 8mm elements. The non-response from Huangshi Industrial is disconcerting. I'm hanging tight at this point.

I too contacted RaderAuto the other day. But I get no response also there. Maybe they thought we were in the same group.

Gota love Mercedes Diesels!
