(01-31-2011, 02:53 PM)Hercules Was not a matter of survival, but of reducing smoke emissions.
Mbz thought it enough problem to make the change,But what do they know any way??
IMO all MB was ever worried about was emissions. They designed a system that burnt as little fuel as possible, hence the small elements. Increasing any one of the variables in the fuel system without equally massaging the others is like doing half the job so to speak, or crutching it.
One thing can be safely said, they were not out to build a muscle car when they designed the 616.

Just a quick thought given the latest amendment to the rules, when everyone feels that this discussion has gone as far as it can go, is there any interest in a similar discussion concept regarding valve train? I know there are threads here and there, but thought I would ask.
