The 6spd output shaft is 26 Splines; Spline Diameter - 28.7mm
What are my options for modifying the transmission or flywheel
As I see it all of the single mass flywheels had the pilot bearing in the crank shaft?
And all of the 6spd cars had the pilot bearing in the duel mass flywheel with a short out put shaft on the transmission!
can the flywheel be modified to hold the pilot bearing further out than the crank? or can the out put shaft be lengthened to reach the flywheel bearing location?
Whats the most economical / quickest route?

Stock duel mass flywheel 6spd pics! It weighs 36# by it self around 49 complete! dang that's some spinning weight!

I can be wrong, don't take everything I say as verbatim, please fact-check first.
My posts are my personal opinions and thoughts, unless otherwise noted.
I could make a press-in or bolt-on extension to hold the pilot bearing if you wanted, I'd just need the bearing to get a good OD measurement, and how far out you wanted it to stick.

I think I could get a fly wheel and clutch kit from an older model and have it modified for less money in the long run as more clutch options are available! if any one has an older 300e flywheel laying around I've got cash

12-20-2010, 10:46 AM #5I have a C230 duel mass fly wheel coming with a used clutch I'll check it out! But a clutch kit is +$700 for just a disc and pressure plate!!! But it will be good for measurements if nothing else! It's just like the one in the pic!
