(02-26-2011, 03:43 PM)garage Whats up with this project drop?
I was real excited to see all this come together.
Ive just been really busy with work and other obligations. Plus other factors like its cold and dark outside when I get out of work, and the older I get, the less inclined I am to working outside in the cold when I don't have to.
Looking forward to it staying lighter longer and warming up a bit to move forward faster.
I have been moving forward getting the van up to speed though, somewhat related to the swap. It needed some decent suspension work up front, and had a broken shackle in the rear for the leaf springs, so ive taken care of that and ball joints, tie rods, shocks, pitman arm, ect. All were loose or bad.
Inside ive repaired all the broken and missing stuff from the dash, and central console, ect. Its pretty simple electrically, with no features whatsoever, which should be nice for the swap, but even so, what was there was a total rats nest of tangled and crossed wires. For instance, the PO was running the blower motor by twisting wires hanging out of the dash, instead of replacing the 2 dollar switch from GM.
Also have done some body work, going to replace the passenger door since its damaged, and have been working to fix all the door handles. I had to cut through the top of the dented rusty hood to open it by accessing the latch from the back side.
Once that was done, I could only find this replacement as the nicest hood in the yard.
Needless to say, that lettering had to go
