I needed a break from Redblock Volvos...

Got a deal that was too good to be true, on this '82 300D Turbo.  It has been on my list of dream cars, so I'm thrilled to have one.  Body is very straight, rust-free CA car.  Paint is "cool" but has some patina and worn spots....it's a decent 20'er.

Unknown actual mileage...allegedly has over 400k on it, though the dial only shows 236k; it's supposed to be a used replacement cluster.  It was a Grease Car....came with a LoveCraft system installed....and the whole car has the horror signs to prove it's been a true Grease Car.

Cool news is that most things work, it runs & drives, and came with w202 15" alloys...not my favorite wheel, but I'm happy to have some 15" wheels.

Driver side tie rod is blown out, and I'm awaiting the arrival of new replacements for both sides.  I've changed the oil & filter, and removed the LoveCraft system, and replaced with a conventional screw on filter & new pre-filter.....I do want to address the strainer in the tank next.

Just removing the LoveCraft system was a notable improvement.  I'm looking forward to massaging this w123 back to her glory!

My most expensive week, with cars, has been my first week with my Benz.  No surprise, as this thing should have over 400k on it.

After a bad alternator brush pack, blown tie rod, countless fuel system clogs, I've decided to give this w123 the surgery it needs.

Such a mess!

Leaky oil drain, and maybe more.

Manifolds are out, and she's going to get scrubbed down.

She's going together clean!  New motor mounts and dampers are first to do.  I'm going to tap oil drain for a 10AN hose, and ordered my banjo-to-4an adapter, for my feed.  I'll use a Volvo TD04HL-13t turbo, with the CBV blocked off....and I'll eventually incorporate water cooling for the journal bearing.  It'll get a full 3" exhaust, with a quiet muffler and a water/air intercooler.

That's first priority!

Everything is getting cleaned, while it's apart.  Scraping out the crud, bit by bit.

New Manifolds gasket arrived today...I need to find a w115 n/a manifold
