Hi,
My glow plug on 1987' 617.931 non turbo motor does not come on all time.Bulb is ok but never come on when i start motor will come on if i turn key half back turn in ignition but not when starting engine .I know glowing works becouse engine starts if i hold on warm for couple sec and i see voltage drop. Is this normal ? how can i tel if all 5 glow plugs are working properly?
I hearded about some sensor in block reading temp.Last night was very cold and i had some starting issue. I can i veryfiy if engine is geting enugh heat from plugs ? how long should i keep them on before cranking motor? appreciate any help J

Thank you .I read up on this one .Just was also hoping for answer if glowplug light should be on everytime i turn key on.

When its cool or cold outside it should be on everytime. Only in 85+? should it not.

When its cool or cold outside it should be on everytime. Only in 85+? should it not.

Thank you Winmutt. After all this info i know i have problem with foulty glow plugs. Will replace them all .
