i have the chance to buy a 1987 190 2.5 turbo-any input would help the car has 120 k miles no records but looks clean.since this car was produced in low numbers in the us/i cant seem to find any good info as to if this is a great car/engine combo or a dog to stay away from.i do not want to buy a money pit-please anyone out there tell me if this a strong car--thanks again

It, along with the 87 300D, is one of the best cars MB ever made. At the time those two cars were the fastest production diesel vehicles in the world.

I have one, it is really great has plenty of get up a go when you need it, but still gives me between 33 and 36 MPG all year round. I would love to get one in better shape myself. Go for it you won't be disappointed in it!
