Hello. I'm new to this forum, and been looking around for first, now it's time to ask some question.
A fiend of mine is building a pullingtractor for the oldstock class.
He wants to run in the 14oo and 1800kg class.
The limits for the engine are 3.5L max,one turbo and no rpm limit,so the engine will be a OM606.
So far we have the engine,an big holset HX55v and he had a 10mm P-pump and a mccormick tractor.
The powergoals are 600+....
We're not sure the p-pump will go one the engine,so here some questions.
What are the costs of a Myne pump?
Are they direct order or is there a site witch i havend found yet.
Are there higher flowing nozzle's for the 606?
I asumme we have to drop the CR,what's the best way:moding pistons or thicker gasket?
Thanks

Unless you plan on rebuilding the engine after every match i suggest the cheaper easier route of an already proven and aftermarket supported engine(i.e. cummins, powerstroke, etc.) but if you do end up building the engine please let us know.

Are you allowed to de-cube the engine? We do alot of tractor pulling in this area and they generally dont allow it here. However if you are allowed to in your sanction, going with an IH, JD, or any of the pickup truck engines will give you huge aftermarket parts availability.

Some of the highest powered tractors in the world are made in this area. However they are all direct injected engines. A similar class to what you described that we have here would be the prostock class. 640 cid max, no rpm limit, and one charger of any size. So approximately 10.4 liters if my conversion was correct.

1981 300SD...Too much propane = bent rods. Junked
1980 240D...Body fell off. Saved drivetrain and junked
1985 300D...No.2 and N2O = 16.35@85mph. Sold Sad
1999 E300TD...3" exhaust with banks muffler, Hx-35, 215hp tune, IP resistor box, bad crankshaft snout Angry
2005 E320 CDI...AMG injectors, EGR removed, mapping

In the 1400kg oldstock we have an weight limit of 1400kg max... so no IH,jd or cummins,sorry... and the tracktor has to be 25 years and older.

My friend is currently running an 3.6 audi v8 in an old ford dextra.
Due to some strange reason id can run intercoolers an idi not.....
So an OM606 was the powermaker of choice......

Thanks for joining and welcome!

The idea of a p-pump on one of these motors has been discussed but i dont belive it has been done yet, but if you decide to experiment with that idea PLEASE keep us posted on here..im sure alot of us would be interested in that.
Another option for the pump is to get one from a om603 because they are mechanical, then contact Dervtuning, and Tomnik on this site, they can sort you out with much larger fuel elements, and i belive adjust the settings for you.

As far as compression, Biohazard has lowered his compression to 18:1 on his om617 using a custom made head gasket.

If you decided to use this engine please keep us updated!!

For the injectors, who knows more on higher flow?...

The highest flowing injector nozzles that i know of are 314 nozzles, im not sure of the EXACT model they came on though.
However im not sure about the actual injectors themselves.

Theres also been talk about honing out the injector nozzles, but i dont think anyone has tried it yet.

Yep. Those are good over 110hp/injector

thanks, that would be enough... my calculator tells me that would be 660 hp... :-)
Serious,thought they would flow less.
Bad news on the P-pump, it is a ls,as far as i know that is a left rotating pump....

Just send a 603 pump to Mynä. 8mm Mynä-pump is plenty for 600hp.
